Forgiveness

Forgiveness keeps the Heart going.
Forgiveness keeps the world going.
Forgiveness keeps you going.
Even though
the soul can never die,
without forgiveness
we would all be dead.
It is forgiveness which allows
a constant renewal
of the emotional realization
of the kindness of Spirit.
What has happened
happened as a result of karma,
not God's hate for you.
Forgiving others is the final recognition
and acceptance of the truth that
you yourself have committed actions
which need forgiveness,
and this is why others
have committed actions
which you need to forgive.
Forgiving others is a great opportunity
to heal yourself.
Take it!
Forgiving others is the recognition
of the Divine Hand
guiding human events.
Forgiving others is the recognition
of the Divine Soul
within all souls.
Forgiving others is letting go of that
which causes pain in the first place.
Do not let the mind re-create this unhelpful drama.
Do not let the mind draw this anger
back into your being.
Anger harms you.
Forgiving others is Loving yourself.
See the blessing:
your own human weaknesses
and those of others
have pushed you to seek the Self.
Only in Him is there unlimited abundance,
purity,
and everything else you desire.
It is the material nature which causes you pain.
That is its nature.
Forgiving others is the recognition of That
which lies underneath the dirt and the darkness
of the difficult human existence.
All are struggling.
All are in pain.
All are in fear.
It is common for those in pain and fear
to lash out,
to abandon,
to be selfish.
The self-realized soul takes
none of this personally.
She lets the world swirl around her
in elegant displays of beauty and grace,
in frantic displays of lust and confusion,
and in the midst of this material storm
she remains calm.
She forgives those who abused her,
those who abandoned her,
knowing that they only did so
out of the insanity and madness of
worldly lust and weakness.
They themselves are under attack
from the material nature
and could not withstand the force.
It is not with others that you war.
It is with this nature which opposes
your true nature.
This nature is capable of throwing up
all kinds of obstacles
to keep you confused,
angry,
afraid.
These obstacles will operate
through other human beings
and other unlimited agencies.
But the Self will not be affected ...
not in the least.
Who Are You Really?
Forgiveness takes you beyond the ego.
Without forgiveness, you are certainly
in the grips of that destructive power.
Though this world is full of Light,
the darkness covering It is thick and pervasive.
You are subconsciously
and superconsciously,
sometimes consciously,
aware
that something is wrong,
not quite right here.
Human life is often
about drowning out this pain,
dulling it,
distracting oneself from it.
But that does not heal the insanity,
born of the illusion
that You are not beyond all of this.
Those who penetrate to the core of Reality
are called saints.
Only perfect saints become perfectly happy.
The road is long.
But if you would be happier,
more sane,
then Seek the Self,
and let go of the turbulent judgments
and emotions
that naturally arise
from the confusing ocean of duality
in which you swim,
and often feel drowned.
The Self is the only dry land.
Religions claim to be, but they are not.
Nations claim to be, but they are not.
Families claim to be, but they are not.
The mind claims to be, but it is not.
The intelligence claims to be, but it is not.
The ego claims to be, but it is not.
At most you can only seek comfort from them
as you face this world's terrors.
Often they are the very source of your terrors.
They can only temporarily distract you
from the gnawing truth of your bondage.
The Self is the only One free.
And You Are That.
On this path to Freedom is Forgiveness.
It stands right in the middle of the road.
You cannot go around it.
You cannot go above it,
under it,
or push it away.
But why would you want to?
If you would be who you really are,
If you would be truly happy,
then you have to forgive.
Embrace this Truth Now.
But do it with the exquisite joy
of someone whistling a happy tune
as they skip down the road to freedom.
You are approaching Reality!
Embrace this Truth.
Do it now by giving your angst to God
and giving your love to
those who have hurt you.
It is forgiveness that heals -
nothing else.
Forgiveness heals
the forgiver.
The person who bears a grudge,
even after having already suffered,
continues to afflict herself.
Separated from others by fate,
she further separates herself
by failing to let go,
failing to see Light in the darkness,
Redemption in the suffering.
But those
who release hate,
who let go of anger,
and who know
that the Self is One -
they would never injure themselves
by thinking badly
about any other person for any reason.
They live in joy
because their Love is unwavering.
They live in a state of Grace
because they forgive everyone everything.
Forgiveness is Love
acting wisely.
